VORMLIA – REHABILITATION OF WATER AND WASTEWATER PIPE NETWORK

Nes Municipality will carry out rehabilitation of the water and wastewater network at Vormlia. The project area is located in an area with challenging ground conditions and close to several mapped quick clay hazard zones.

Geoteknia has performed ground investigations, assessed area stability, and completed detailed geotechnical design. Brittle failure soil material was identified, requiring careful planning and execution of the construction works.

The project therefore includes specific construction requirements, including staged excavation and the use of trench boxes in order to maintain stability.
