TONSTAD BRIDGE

Sirdal Municipality will construct a new pedestrian and cycling bridge across the Sira river in the center of Tonstad. The bridge is a four-span composite bridge with a total length of approximately 107 m, with the longest individual span being approximately 30 m.

The bridge will be founded on concrete foundations placed on existing sand and gravel deposits. The pier foundations within the river are planned to be cast inside sheet pile supported pits, with the top of foundation located approximately 0.3 m below the final riverbed level. The bridge abutments are planned to be excavated using open excavation slopes.
