Geoteknia AS is engaged in connection with the zoning and development of a site at Råholt in Eidsvoll Municipality.
The project area is located below the marine limit, and the risk of large-area landslides must therefore be assessed in order to satisfy the requirements of the Norwegian Building Technical Regulations (TEK17).
Geoteknia has carried out an area stability assessment in accordance with NVE Guideline 1/2019 within a planning area characterized by challenging ground conditions. Completed ground investigations and terrain analyses showed that parts of the area are located within a newly identified hazard zone for large-area landslides, where the assessed failure mechanism is rotational sliding. The planned development measures are considered, overall, to contribute to an improvement of the area stability under permanent conditions.
The assessment has been independently reviewed by a separate specialist consultant, and the hazard quick clay zone has been reported to the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE).
