OBOS Nye Hjem AS is developing Furuset Village in Oslo. The project consists of 74 residential units distributed across three residential buildings, in addition to a shared community building.
Geoteknia AS is engaged as geotechnical consultant by Backe Stor-Oslo AS, the design-build contractor for the project.
The project is part of FutureBuilt and one of two sites in Oslo included in the C40 initiative. Several solutions were evaluated with strong emphasis on reducing the CO₂ footprint. Foundations were optimized together with the structural engineer. The buildings are directly founded on local soils. Excavation works were carried out partly as open cuts and partly supported by internally braced pipe pile walls.
